Russia intentionally sows panic in Transnistria: Moldova warned about possible provocations

According to power structures in Moldova, the Russians mounted a roller on which the drone allegedly destroyed the Mi-8 military helicopter. The Moldova Reintegration Bureau has warned possible provocations in Transnistria inspired by the Russian Federation. This will be done to sow panic and weaken Moldova's economy. About it reports the edition Realitatea with reference to the statement of the bureau.

"Judging by the information we have, it is important to inform the public that in the future, the Russian Federation plans even more similar actions around the perimeter of the Transnistrian region and the security zone," the statement reads. The bureau specified that the video dated March 17, 2024, at which the drone allegedly attacked a military unit in Tiraspol and destroyed the Mi-8 military helicopter, contains signs of installation.

In this way, the Russians try to increase panic among the population, cause distrust in society and weaken the economy of Moldova, the bureau noted. Earlier, ISW analysts noted that the Mi-8 helicopter was not used for its intended purpose for years. The UAV attack on Transnistria may be part of a campaign to destabilize the situation in Moldova. The Ukrainian and Moldovan sides accuse Russia of provocation on a military base in Tiraspol.
