The IAEA has approved the resolution and called on Russia to urgently remove troops from the Zaporozhye NPP

The agency pointed to a serious concern with the lack of proper qualified personnel on the site. The Council of Managing IAEA has approved a resolution on the urgent return of Zaporizhzhya NPP to full control of Ukraine. On Facebook, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine informed the details. The delegation of the Ukrainian department participated in the meeting of the IAEA governing council.

The agency supported the project of a resolution on nuclear security, security and guarantees in Ukraine. It was developed by Ukrainian representatives. The document provides for the regulation of these issues. The document, in particular, calls on the Russian Federation for urgent withdrawal from the strategic object of all unauthorized personnel, including the military. This is necessary to ensure that it is safe and reliable.

In the adopted document, in addition, the organization indicated a serious concern with the lack of proper qualified personnel on the site. The statement and gaps in carrying out routine-preventive works, the absence of reliable and stable supply chains, the vulnerable state of water supply, external power supply and the installation of anti-personnel mines in the buffer zone between the external and internal perimeter of the installation.
