Pentagon cannot force SpaceX not to provide Starlink services to the Russians at the front

Space Policy Defense Assistant John Plyamb noted that Starlink is a commercial product, and in Russia there are no problems with buying goods through the black market. The high -ranking Pentagon representative on April 10 at the west of 2024 Space Symposium said that the US Department of Defense could not force SpaceX to stop servicing the Russian soldiers using the Starlink satellite terminals. About it reports Defense One.

"I do not think that the Ministry of Defense is able to force them to do such things, so I will just say about it. I know about the fears of Ukraine and work on it with Ukraine and Starlink," said Space Policy Defense Assistant John Plyamb. According to him, Starlink is a commercial product, and in Russia there are no problems with buying goods through the black market. Moreover, a situation where different entities try to get and use Starlink, you just need to accept.

"And you should not be mistaken. The reason it exists is that the system is so effective," said Plyamb. The Pentagon representative added that the United States defense agency continues to work with the Ukrainian side and SpaceX to provide the services that Ukraine needs and prevent the use of this by the Russian forces. "Of course, without licenses and, of course, not by the order of the country they have fallen into, for the sake of all the saint.
