"Very Powerful Weapons": Ukraine has already received cassette ammunition from the United States - the General of the Armed Forces

According to the commander of the Tavriya group Alexander Tarnavsky, they have not yet been used on the battlefield. Higher management will work out tactics on how to do it properly so as not to violate the agreements with Washington. Ukraine has already received the first parties of cassette ammunition from the United States of America, but they have not yet been used on the battlefield.

This was stated by the commander of the operational-strategic group "Tavriya" Alexander Tarnavsky in an interview with CNN on July 13. A week after President Joe Biden announced a new package of assistance for Kiev, some of it had already arrived. Washington then stated that the decision was difficult for them. "We have just received them, we have not used them yet, but they can change them radically (the situation at the front - ed. )," - the message reads.

Oleksandr Tarnavsky also noted that the decision on when and on what areas the new weapons will be used, the highest leadership will be made, but the Russian invaders are already frightened by such an advantage of the Armed Forces. By the way, the use of cassette ammunition is forbidden in densely populated points, even if they are temporarily under Russian control, and Ukraine has given such an obligation, but the Russians do not reassure it.

"The enemy will give up the part of the area where you can use them. The Russians think that we will use them in all areas of the front. It is very wrong. But they are very concerned," the message reads. In an interview with CNN, journalists also mentioned the statement of US national security advisor Jake Sullivan that the supply of cassette ammunition was a temporary decision.

As soon as the production of ordinary shells can be increased to a level that would meet Ukrainian needs, partners will return to them again. We will remind, on July 12 it was reported that the Ministry of Defense explained how cassette ammunition would be used. The head of the department Alexei Reznikov noted that the Armed Forces are not going to violate the agreements that were achieved with Washington.
