Russia has lost almost all big drones in a year: you have to buy Mohajer - experts

The Russian army can only produce 45 Orion drones annually, but this is not enough for war in Ukraine. According to Western military analysts, Russia has lost almost all its best shock and intelligence drones over a year and a half. According to the published report by the CSIS Analytical Center, at the time of the attack the army of the Russian Federation had about 2,000 different drones of Orion, Zala-Cubb and Forpost.

But, as Defense Express writes, almost all of them were shot or damaged, and to restore them quickly or adjust the mass production of new drones. Western analysts claim that Russia is able to produce no more than 45 Orion drones every year, so they have to contact the Iranians and buy similar MOHAJER-6 UAVs. In addition, the production of drones does not go through Western sanctions. The Kremlin has allocated 1 trillion rubles for financing drones, but this is clearly small.

According to analysts, the lack of funds for drones is evidenced by the fact that the army of the aggressor began to use the UAV "Forpost" very rarely. Not only the lack of funding plays its negative role, but also the difficulties that the Russian Federation faces during the purchase of components of Western origin. To compensate for the lack of drones, the Russian Federation turns to import.

And this is not only about the purchase of Iranian Shahd and MOHAJER-6, but also the import of Chinese civilian drones, too. However, since September 1, China imposes restrictions on export of civilian drones that can be converted to military purposes, but Russia is convinced that "gray deliveries" will continue, although the price of drones and components will increase.
