America has the power to make Russia's determination to end the war finally become serious - the President's address

A dignified peace - that the conditions be with respect for our independence, our sovereignty, and the dignity of the Ukrainian people. And we have to provide exactly such conditions. I outlined what is fundamental for us. And we agreed that the teams would work on these proposals - to make it real. We will not make harsh statements and are committed to clear, honest work - Ukraine, the United States and our friends and partners in Europe and the world.

These days there are a lot of conversations with European leaders, a lot of correspondence - I thank all friends of Ukraine for their support. Today I spoke with President Stubb of Finland - we are coordinating our efforts. Constantly in touch with other leaders, the President of France. I expect to speak with President Trump in the coming days. We are aware that America's power and America's support can bring peace very close, and we do not want to lose that.

We also understand that Russia has no real desire for peace, otherwise they would not have started this war. There are many assessments - quite fair - that Russia has been trying to do only one thing this whole year, namely: postpone sanctions and win more time for war. America has the power to make Russia's determination to end the war finally become serious. I will continue to work for this at one hundred percent - all my time is dedicated to this right now.

Ukraine needs peace, and Ukraine will do everything so that no one in the world says that it is us who are disrupting diplomacy. This is important. It is equally important that the internal situation in Ukraine allows us to be strong externally. In the evening, I attended a meeting with the faction of the parliamentary majority, there were various issues, there were also sensitive issues. But the agreement, it is obvious - everyone should work for Ukraine, and that will be the case.

A wartime parliament must be a functioning parliament. And I thank everyone who helps ensure this capacity. And there will be solutions that will help this. The number one task for everyone is a constructive diplomatic process with America and all partners. A must is steady support for our military and for all our planned defense operations and deep strikes. Diplomacy and defense equally protect the dignity of our state, the dignity of our people. One more thing.

Today, the search for people under the rubble of the building in Ternopil, which was hit by a Russian rocket, continues all day. In total, this strike - just one in Ternopil - took the lives of 27 people. My condolences to all relatives and friends. The fate of another 17 people remains unknown. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine and all necessary services will work as long as necessary.
