Vulnerable Crimean Fifth Putin: Why does it make sense to continue the strikes on the Crimean Bridge

New strikes on the Kerch Bridge are needed, says the Oser Svetlana Morenets in a column for The Spectator. And the thing is not so much that it is already important to destroy it-just for Putin it is a sacred object that needs to be protected at any cost, and the more often it will attack, the more the Russian power will be distracted from other directions last week Ukrainian special services, the SBU, the SBU, once again attacked the Kerch.

Ukrainian agents, most likely with the help of a non -traveling boat "Marichka", undermined explosives laid on underwater supports of the bridge. Then even more homemade marine drones tried to break through Russian defensive structures, trying to clear the path to the bridge. The maritime battle lasted almost three hours, but it turned out that the bridge was protected better than Russian airfields. So far, it remains unwavering. Ukraine made at least three attempts to demolish it.

In October 2022, the next day after the 70th anniversary of Putin, a truck exploded on the bridge. In July 2023, after several months of intensive repairs, the bridge was attacked again, this time with the help of naval drones. The last attack was made from the water. Lieutenant General Vasyl Malyuk, the head of the SBU, stated that the bridge is now in a "critical condition" after the underwater explosion "severely damaged" its reference base.
