"Can advance": Kraken commander predicted the Russian offensive on Kharkiv in May

About 50,000 Russian servicemen, according to Economist reports, are harvested near the border for about 40 km for the likely environment of Kharkiv or the creation of a buffer zone to protect Belgorod. Russian troops can advance a few kilometers deep, but are unlikely to enter 10 km. The commander of the Unit of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kraken Konstantin Nychhev reported that the offensive could take place in mid -May, writes Economist.

The occupiers, according to the Ukrainian military, will not be able to approach the city. He said that Kharkiv's protection is much stronger now. The city has three lines of fortifications and a completed brigade to stop the Russians. "They can advance a few kilometers deep into the area, but I do not think they will be able to go as much as 10 km," Nychhev said. Ukrainian armed forces know that they have no way out except to fight further.

According to the newspaper, about 50,000 Russian servicemen are harvested near the border for about 40 km, but Kharkiv commanders know how to counteract Russia's offensive. One of the scenarios, as stated in the material of the publication, is the isolation of the city by cutting the main road to Kiev.

Another option would be about 10 km closer, putting the eastern outskirts of the city in the artillery area and creating a buffer zone to protect Belgorod, a Russian city that seems to be blown by Ukrainian drones. Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavlyuk, who commanded the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces, said on May 3 that Russian occupiers have a plan for Kharkiv's occupation or Sumy, but it is unknown whether the enemy is able to realize these plans with his forces.

He stressed that Kharkiv is another possible goal of the Russian summer offensive. Oleksandr Pavlyuk did not indicate how much such plans can realize the enemy. Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov told May 7 about the moods of people in connection with the threats of Russians. According to the mayor, Moscow tried to intimidate the residents of the Eastern Ukrainian City, but failed. People continue to stay at home and do not go anywhere.
