Do you need armies of "grandfather": what do the military think about "contract 60+"

According to the initiator of the document, the People's Deputy of Ukraine from the political party "Voice", the secretary of the said committee Roman Kostenko in a comment to "Ukrainian Pravda", since the beginning of a full -scale invasion, a large number of citizens of 60 and more years with experience in various areas have expressed a desire to join Ukraine. However, the Ukrainian legislation has restrictions on the military service of this category of citizens who will remove the bill.

The project proposes the law during the martial law to be admitted to military service under the contract of people aged 60 years of age, which are recognized as a military commission suitable for military service. The contract will require the written permission of the commander of the military unit. The term of signing the contract is 1 year with the possibility of continuation with the permission of the commander of the part.

Such military can claim as the posts of ordinary, sergeant or sergeant. In order to become an officer, such persons need permission of the Armed Forces General Staff. For people 60+, the military unit will be set for 2 months. It is planned that such people will be involved in non -combat positions. "The project helps to create an effective army in which everyone is in their place," the authors of the bill emphasize.

According to the authors of the bill, citizens of 60 years of age often have a high level of personal motivation, patriotism, and also have long -term life and unique professional experience, which have gained in various fields of activity.

"The presence of all kinds of technical knowledge (often unique) among older people is an extremely valuable resource in the conditions of large -scale fighting, which requires not only physical skills, but also deep professional knowledge, practical experience of their use and management competences," the text of the law reads. Also, according to the authors, this will increase the number of military, and also abolish restrictions for people 60+ on the service.

According to the expert and serviceman Igor Lutsenko, the bill eliminates illogicality: now the military can continue their service after 60 years, if they are already serving, but those who have been released at 60 are not allowed to return. The new law allows you to do it. Also, after 60 years, according to a serviceman, the most motivated soldiers and experience remain in the army. "Usually it is a sample of motivated people, because at this age it is easier to write down on diseases.

Among soldiers and sergeants there are virtually no 60+ people. But there is a small number of" grandparents "who know well classical military disciplines. Of which the most important is the knowledge of mine, so they can be very useful. - says Focus Lutsenko. According to the serviceman, the Armed Forces officer Danylo Yakovlev, although the bill is intended to increase the number of servicemen, in practice he will not lead to the army of those specialists that are most needed.

It is about people who carry out assault actions and who are currently lacking in the Armed Forces. "But this will not increase the number of servicemen, because our grandfathers will not be able to assault, and if he is storming, and suddenly, God forbid, then it will be a huge scandal," says Focus Yakovlev.

According to the serviceman, the main purpose of initiating the bill is to allow old officers who have already retired, return to the army to receive wages and increase experience in non -adversaries. Instead, according to Danylo Yakovlev, it is necessary to improve the conditions for the service of young people, including women. "It is necessary to create better conditions for young people, for women to go more to the service," the military summed up.
