In the Russian Federation laid the landing ship "Sergey Kabanov": Moscow is aimed at the Arctic

To extend: at the Baltic Shipyard "Amber" on July 8, a large landing ship of the upgraded project 11711 "Sergey Kabanov" took place. The ship will be fifth in account and will be part of the largest VDC in the Russian Navy. The ship of this class will become another in the line for the Russian Navy after the BDC "Vladimir Andreev" and "Vasyl Trushin", which are at different stages of construction. This was reported by Army Recognition Operators with reference to Russian sources.

The upgraded project 11711m is a significantly redesigned version of the base option. The main differences are in dimensions, architecture, potential in terms of aviation and landing opportunities. According to analysts, the ship will become part of Moscow's strategy for strengthening the Northern Fleet, and in general with increased influence in the Arctic region. The main characteristics of the ship are able to carry up to 13 tanks or 40 units of armored vehicles, as well as up to 400 marines.

Loading is carried out through the nasal devices and a hatch system with a 16-ton crane. In addition, the forage deck is provided for the base of Ka-27 or KA-29 helicopters. Weapons include automatic AK-630 and AK-630M-2 artillery installations. Amber Director General Ilya Samarin said the company expects to build at least ten ships of this type. The Commander -in -Chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Alexander Moiseev also confirms the possibility of expanding the series.
