Children of War in Ukraine: Who and how can the status

To extend: earlier the status of "child of war" was assigned to Ukrainians who had not reached the age of majority before the end of World War II. Children who have suffered during a full -scale invasion of Russia can now claim it. This is stated in the Cabinet resolution. Currently, the status of a child of war still exists, but has a different name - "a child who has suffered as a result of hostilities and armed conflicts.

" Children who, during the war or as a result of hostilities: can apply for the status of children at the place of residence may be claimed for this status. If the family is abroad, the application and the necessary documents should be sent to the relevant service at the place of registration in Ukraine. Parents, other relatives or the child themselves can apply if she is already 14 years old.

The following documents must be provided for registration: the status can be obtained after 18 years, if at the time of February 24, 2022 the person was a minor. Families of IDPs can also apply the status of IDPs - their children were forced to leave the home, and therefore were psychological trauma. It should be noted that in Ukraine certain combatants (UBD) are granted the right to early retirement support. This category of citizens provides for special conditions for retirement.
