New BMP for Ukraine: What are the troubles in the Armed Forces in the event of equipment from Denmark and Sweden

Experts noted that BMPs differ in combat characteristics from different suppliers. This will need to be considered when planning their use on the front. Sweden and Denmark have promised to give Ukraine a batch of armored vehicles (BMP) CV90 for fighting against units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. These BMPs can be different types, that is, they will have different combat characteristics, so they will be used differently on the battlefield.

However, this variety of the Armed Forces will have some problems. Defense24 experts told about the situation that may occur after the provision of Western armored vehicles. Experts noted that partner countries announced the provision of BMP CV90, but did not specify which version of the armored vehicles. Meanwhile, there is a certain difference between Swedish and Danish models, the essence of which was interpreted on the portal.

Features of the Swedish version of CV9040 - older: features of the Danish version of CV9035DK - newer: as a result, experts wrote that the Danish version of CV90 is more suitable in the battles against the enemy armored vehicles, and the other - Swedish - will be better in countering infantry units. These features were to take into account the Ukrainian command when planning operations against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. On the other hand, there is a problem with spare parts.

In particular, each of these BMPs requires its own maintenance, own specialists and their own details. As a result, logistics chaos may intensify, the Defense24, meanwhile, noted the experts of the Ukrainian Portal Defense Express have noted another aspect of Western weapons supply. In particular, they suggest that NATO member countries seem to have no single list of weapons. A similar fact indicates that the real situation in the North Atlantic Alliance can "differ from our ideas" on this issue.

Finally, experts emphasize that the officials who have announced the provision of CV90 BMP did not specify what kind of armored vehicles Ukraine will have. It should be noted that on December 18 it became known that Denmark and Sweden will transfer military equipment to Ukraine worth $ 264 million. Money will be spent on armored vehicles, components and a stock of shells. Each CV90 BMP costs about $ 9 million, so you can expect about 25 armored vehicles.
