The Russian Federation loses in the battle of drones: what are the advantages of Ukraine in the production of UAV for war - Forbes

The Kremlin centralized the release of drones for the front, while in Ukraine thousands of manufacturers do it. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation receive standard models, and the Armed Forces use devices that are constantly being improved. The Russian army receives a limited number of UAV models, which are produced by the only large manufacturer to order the Kremlin.

At the same time, there are thousands of mini -producers in Ukraine who are constantly improving the products depending on the needs of the front. Due to such a difference in the approaches of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, it loses in the war of drones, which is now on the battle line. What different approaches to the Russian Federation and Ukraine differ on the Forbes portal.

In the Russian Federation, there is the only large manufacturer of drones that are used on the front line - Sudoplatov. The owners of the company reported the Kremlin, which can produce 30 thousand devices per month. However, these devices do not work as the Russians would like. Sudoplatov drones are standard and make them a light target: the Armed Forces fighters set the frequency at which they work and then knock down.

"In the Bakhmut area, Sudoplatov's drones are still working at the same frequency indicated by the manufacturer, and the enemy successfully knocks them down," the articles of a military analyst with Nick WartransLated were quoted in the article. In addition, there are other disadvantages of the Russian army system. Among them is the poor quality of drones produced by a centralized enterprise: a barely third of products take off.

Another problem is the poor interaction of adjacent units, resulting in the disruption of the obstacle system and drones of the Armed Forces get to the Russian Federation. To all, senior management simply does not report problems, so they are not solved. "All this begins to look like karma at work. The corrupt and autocratic system becomes a victim of its own corruption," the article says.

Instead, the production of drones in Ukraine is decentralized and there are about 15 different models that are actively used on the front. As it turned out, Ukrainians are better in radio electronic struggle-this is evidenced by the effectiveness of the blows, which was analyzed by the OSINT investigative. In particular, in April, the analyst Andrew Perpetua noted that the proportion of blows is four to one: 45 attacks on Russian units account for 12 in Ukrainian.

"Ukraine can build FPV faster than Russia can build cars, and they steadily absorb Russian forces," the authors of Forbes summed up. It should be noted that at the beginning of 2024 President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky assured that the Armed Forces will have 1 million drones. After that, the program was launched, in which anyone can make a drone and send it to the soldiers to the front.

Meanwhile, the Russians also established the production of drones: some conveyors are located even in bakery shops. Meanwhile, Focus talked about the problems of the Sudoplatov drone, which have the only advantage: the presence of a simulator for the training of piloting. We remind you that in April, a number of videos with tanks, BBM, motorcycles and other Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which had special protection against Ukrainian FPV-pans, were posted on the network.
