On Friday, July 14, an explosion occurred during the tests of a new Epsilon S engine for Japanese rockets at the Japanese Aerospace Agency's testing ground. According to Japanese officials, the explosion occurred approximately 50 seconds after the start of the engine test, which was equipped with the second degree of Japanese rocket launcher Epsilon S. It is an improved version of the rocket that failed to be sent to space in October last year. The video shows the fire erupts beyond the test landfill, then the entire building covers the flames. Now representatives of the Japanese Aerospace Agency are investigating the causes of the explosion.
Back in October last year, there was an unsuccessful launch of the Epsilon-6 rocket launcher, which since 2013 performed 5 successful flights into space.
