The roads to the city are under the full control of enemy drones, so the Ukrainian military is forced to cover the way to the positions on foot for a distance of up to 15 kilometers. After the July sweep, the Russians re-entered Pokrovsk in mid-August. Since then, they have created several centers of accumulation of forces in the area of the railway between Pokrovsk and Hryshyn, as well as along the Dachenske-Novopavlivka-Hnativka line.
It is from there that the occupiers launch attacks on Ukrainian positions within the city. Two officers defending Pokrovsk confirmed the shooting of Ukrainian drone operators and the engagement of gunners and anti-tank gunners. The military maintains positions to the south of the city, but communications with them are limited — part of the positions actually ended up between enemy forces.
UP sources specify that some positions are fictitious — they exist only on maps, while wounded or no personnel remain on the ground. The main problem is the catastrophic lack of infantry. One of the interlocutors of "Ukrainian Pravda" said: "The infantry is practically cut off from control. We hear them on the walkie-talkie, we try to dump water, people are in positions for 2. 5-3 months. In Pokrovsk itself, only from what I know, there are 250 enemies, I think the number is higher.
There are battles on practically every street, we have 200 and 300 every day. We cannot evacuate the wounded, because part of the landings already under the enemy. Miraculously managed to get the two infantrymen out, but then the FPV flew in and they are now heavy. The biggest problem is logistics: we drive part of the road, then walk 10-15 kilometers under the control of drones. The whole road is shot by FPV drones, a lot of remote mining.
" It is noted that the brigade was provided with the necessary resources, including night reconnaissance complexes, but with a delay. The deterioration of the situation in Pokrovsk directly affects its satellite city - Myrnograd, because the logistics of Ukrainian troops to this settlement passes through Pokrovsk. The supply shoulder is more than 20 kilometers, which greatly complicates the delivery of ammunition and provisions.
The second interlocutor of "Ukrainian Pravda" noted: "Things are developing according to the worst-case scenario. Pokrovsk is falling too quickly, we did not expect this. There are several enemies in the north of Mirnograd, small groups are infiltrating in the south, but the situation there is better than in Pokrovsk. If Pokrovsk falls, the garrison in Mirnograd will be cut off. It is almost impossible to carry out a rotation or take out the wounded.
Rodinske are pressing, Krasnyi Liman is under the enemy. People work on the edge, realizing that the environment is getting closer. " According to "Ukrainian Pravda", the situation in Pokrovsk and Myrnograd remains critical. Russian troops continue to control the airspace with the help of FPV drones, which track the movement of transport and complicate the logistics of Ukrainian units.
Both cities are effectively surrounded by drones, and the risk of a complete blockade of Ukrainian garrisons increases at the end of October. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of 4:00 p. m. on October 23, "in the Pokrovsky direction, during the day, the enemy tried to advance to our positions near the settlements of Nikanorivka, Myrnograd, Rodynske, Lysivka, Zvirove, Udachne, Molodetske and in the direction of other settlements. Two combat clashes are ongoing.
