The Second Peace Summit in Ukraine should help finish fighting - Yermak

According to the head of the OP, the meeting will take place in the country of the so -called global south, probably in the Middle East, which will be a demonstration of "unity of the world" against the backdrop of Russia's attempts to share it. The head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak said that the second summit of peace, which will take place this year, should pave the way to the end of the fighting. He told about it in an interview with Bloomberg.

According to journalists, Zelensky insists on the convening of the second summit before the US elections in November. Potentially, Russia may be present. The publication writes that these efforts are made at a time when Ukraine and its Western partners are worried about the return of Donald Trump to the post of US President against the backdrop of growing fatigue and the absence of major breakthroughs on the battlefield.

"The most important expectation from the second summit is that it will form the main prerequisites for the termination of hostilities," Yermak said. According to him, it is necessary to put an end to the war as soon as possible to achieve a just peace. Yermak stated that the meeting would take place in the country of the so -called global south, probably in the Middle East, which would be a demonstration of "unity of the world" against the backdrop of Russia's attempts to share it.

Journalists noted that the previous Summit of Peace held in Switzerland was overshadowed by the requirement of Russian President Vladimir Putin so that Ukraine would abandon a large part of its territory as a preliminary condition for peace. Russia was not invited to the meeting at the time, and China refused to be present. Recall that the Kremlin spoke about the participation of the Russian Federation in the Peace Summit.
