Several photos are published on social networks, claiming that the footage shows a burning refinery in Bratislava.
In recent days, explosions have also been reported at the Danube Refinery, Hungary's largest refinery processing Russian oil, and at the Lukoil refinery in Ploieste, Romania. As a result of the explosion, one person was injured, a criminal case was opened under the articles of non-compliance with the legislation on labor protection and on causing harm to health due to carelessness.
As for Hungary, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán discussed the situation at the Sazhalombatta refinery with MOL representatives and Interior Minister Sándor Pinter the day before, on October 21. He stated that fuel supplies to Hungary are safe. According to him, the circumstances of the fire "will be investigated as thoroughly as possible. " We will remind you that while oil refineries are burning in Europe, Russia is finding new routes for its raw materials.
