One more year: Putin made Trump's proposal

To spread: Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested that the head of the White House of Donald Trump continue the last treaty, which restricts the nuclear weapons of both countries as they discuss further actions. These words were heard during a meeting at a meeting of the Security Council, and he assured that his proposal was in the interests of global non -proliferation and could contribute to the development of dialogue with Washington about the control of weapons, Reuters reports.

The term of the S-III contract, which limits the number of strategic nuclear weapons designed to defeat the centers of military, economic and political power, ends on February 5. The document restricts the number of 1550 units unfolded on each side. Analysts do not exclude that if the contract is not extended or replaced, each party will violate the limits of the number of weapons.

"Russia is ready to continue to comply with the main quantitative restrictions stipulated by the SO-III agreement, during the year after February 5, 2026. In the future, on the basis of the situation analysis, we will decide to preserve these voluntary, self-imposed restrictions," Putin said, adding that this event will be viable.

Earlier in Moscow, it was argued that it would interact with Washington on such issues only in the event of improving joint relationships, which impede serious differences regarding the war in Ukraine. In the White House, Putin was not reacted to the words of Putin, although Donald Trump had previously declared his desire to conclude a new agreement on control of nuclear weapons, and even tried to attract China, but in Beijing the idea was rejected.

The US president also said that in which the United States is ready for nuclear confrontation with the Russian Federation. Later in the White House they stated the need for nuclear disarmament. "One of the issues we try to solve with Russia and China is denuclearization, and it is very important. I discussed it with President Putin, but not only that, but other issues. I believe that denuclearization is a very important issue, it is a big game," the President said.
