They tried to break through underground "pipes": the Armed Forces destroyed a group of saboteurs in Sumy Oblast

According to him, the Ukrainian military was waiting for the enemy and opened fire as soon as the invaders appeared at the exit of the tunnel, eliminating half of the group. The publication of the Russian media notes that after the operations in Avdiivka and Suja, the use of underground tunnels was only a matter of time, and the next attempt took place south of Varachino.

However, the effect of surprise did not work for the occupiers - the Ukrainian military was ready and clearly worked out the defense. According to sources, some of the surviving Russian soldiers continue to fight and try to join up with other units that are storming Varachino from the west. The large-scale network of tunnels prepared by the occupying command includes both communication pipes and hand-dug passages ranging from a few tens of meters to more than a kilometer in length.

However, Ukrainian defenders have already mapped all the underground routes, so attempts to repeat the "surprise effect" turn into deadly operations for the occupiers. As military analysts point out, the main trick is ingenuity and unpredictability of actions, and copying old schemes can be suicide. As of November 12, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the situation in the Sumy region remains tense.

The enemy shelled the areas of Kucherivka, Bila Bereza, Bobylivka, Huta-Studenetska settlements. This happened in the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk directions, where three combat clashes took place since the beginning of the day. Russian forces carried out three airstrikes, dropped eight aerial bombs and fired 114 artillery strikes, including eight from multiple rocket launchers.

According to the General Staff, units of the Defense Forces are conducting search and strike operations in designated areas and are having success.
