20,000 containers with rockets and ammunition: how the DPRK is armed by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation

To spread: since September 2023, North Korea has handed over large -scale military assistance to Russia - at least 20,000 cargo containers with weapons. Their content included hundreds of ballistic missiles, millions of artillery shells, as well as ammunition for rocket launchers. This is stated in the report of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea, writes the South Korean edition of Yonhap News.

According to the report, North Korea has handed over to Russia about 9 million artillery shells and ammunition for RSSS, more than 100 ballistic missiles, more than 200 units of heavy artillery, as well as anti -tank controlled missiles and jet ammunition. The volume of this assistance is sufficient to fully provide three army brigades. The report also stated that from November to December 2023, military aviation was actively involved in the delivery of North Korean weapons to Russia.

In particular, at least three IL-76 and three An-124 transport planes were used at the disposal of the Command of Transport Aviation of the Russian Federation. At the same time, Russia has transmitted the DPRK with technical data and support for the characteristics of rockets, which allows Pyongyang to improve the guidance system.

Such actions are contrary to the resolutions of the UN Security Council, which prohibit the help of the DPRK in the military sphere, and which Russia supported as a permanent member of the Council. The report also states that in 2024, North Korea sent more than 11,000 soldiers to Russia, and recently sent another 3,000 soldiers. The Russian military teach them to counteract artillery shelling, work with drones and the basics of infantry operations.

At the same time, there is an active exchange of high level between the two countries among military leaders, which indicates a deepening of cooperation after signing a bilateral defense treaty between Vladimir Putin and Kim Cenn in June last year. In addition to military support, Russia supplied to North Korea more than a million barrels of fuel from March to October 2024, which is significantly higher than the 500,000 barrel limit established by the UN Security Council sanctions.

In addition, about 8,000 North Korean workers have been involved in work in the fields of construction, IT and other industries, which violates the ban on foreign employment of North Korea citizens. According to the report, financial transactions between the two states are carried out through the ruble bank accounts of North Korea, opened in the occupied Russian Federation of South Ossetia.

We will remind, on May 26 the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Oleg Ivashchenko announced the large -scale supply of weapons from the DPRK to Russia. It is about six million artillery shells, as well as about 120 self -propelled artillery installations M1989 "Coxan" and 120 reactive volley fire systems M1991. Earlier, in the beginning of December last year, information about the emergence of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation of North Korean RSSV appeared.
