The level of reserves in the underground gas storage facilities of the European Union Member States has been brought up to 80%, such a goal has been achieved ahead of schedule. On August 30, the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Layen stated, Interfax-Ukraine reports. “We have now reached an average filling of gas storage facilities by 80%in the European Union.

So, we are in essence already reached the volume we agreed for the current year, ”said von der Layen in Copenhagen at the Baltic Sea energy security summit. Video day she stressed that EU countries will continue to increase gas in storage. In June, the European Parliament approved plans to replenish the EU gas storage facilities, they provided for at least 80% of the level of storage by November 1.
