During the tests of MK-II (A) Dew successfully struck UAV with a fixed wing at a long distance, destroying the observation sensors and antenna. On a published video you can see how the target is inflamed in the flight under the influence of a laser. Such weapons are especially relevant against the background of the spread of drones and the appearance of drones. The publication believes that laser systems will soon replace traditional kinetic weapons and missile defense systems in modern wars.
Not only does the laser make drones cheaper, it also reduces the risk of concomitant damage. The cost of one "shot" laser weapon for several seconds is equivalent to the cost of a pair of liters of gasoline. Earlier, the forces of unmanned systems of Ukraine demonstrated the work of the domestic laser complex "Trizub", as well as revealed its characteristics. It was also reported that China has introduced a mobile FK-4000 air defense system, which affects the drones with powerful microwaves.
