"Difficult question": Putin told journalists that Wagner PEC does not exist

The President of the Russian Federation states that he personally assessed the achievements of the "Wagner" on the front and their participation in the military rebellion, and then offered them options for "employment". President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said that there is no private military company Wagner. He said this in a comment to the correspondent of the Russian edition "Kommersant" on July 13.

The journalist asked the Russian President, which was actually discussed at his meeting with Yevgeny Prigogin and commanders of Wagner PEC in the Kremlin. "And what really happened? Everything is very simple and apparent for Russian society. The ordinary fighters of" Wagner "fought worthy, so . . . what they were involved in these events is a pity . . . " - said Vladimir Putin.

The President of the Russian Federation states that in the framework of the mentioned meeting assessed the achievements of the "Wagner" at the front and their participation in the military rebellion. He also stated that he had voiced the mercenaries of how they could continue their service. Talking about whether Wagner PEC will remain as a combat unit, Vladimir Putin stated that it was a "difficult issue", which should be discussed in the State Duma and the Government of the Russian Federation.

According to him, from a legal point of view there is no such formation. "Well, so Wagner PVC does not exist! We do not have a law on private military organizations! It just doesn't exist!" - says the President of the Russian Federation. Vladimir Putin also said that he suggested the "Wagner" option "employment" under the guidance of their former commander with the call sign "Sedoi". According to the President, many mercenaries "nodded" in response to this proposal.
