Five shells of six released from the Warrior BMP gun were hit by Challenger 2 but bounced from his armor. According to the UK Ministry of Defense, none of the four tank crew members were injured. According to journalists, the BMP crew noticed Challenger 2 through the thermal imager at a distance of about 500 meters and perceived it for the "enemy" tank.

The Ministry of Defense reported that the gun was charged with inert training shells, rather than pugsa armor -piercing, which is used in a real battle. The department assures that no vehicle was injured, and the fired challenger 2 has already returned to training.
