"Create Anti-Russian": Zakharova appreciated the petition on the renaming of the Russian Federation to "Muscovy"

The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry called Vladimir Zelensky "bunker" and was outraged by possible changes in Ukraine. The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova commented on the popular petition of Ukrainians to introduce the name "Muscovy". She posted her comment on her Telegram channel. Maria Zakharova criticized President Vladimir Zelensky Government to consider the issue of official renaming in Ukraine "Russia" to "Muscovy".

According to the Russian diplomat, politicians are trying to make a state from Ukraine that will be completely opposite to the Russian Federation. "The bunker proves our correctness every day. Here is another testimony to the attempt to create anti-Russia from Ukraine," she wrote. As they wrote earlier, on March 10, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky answered the petition of Valery Shakhvorostova, which collected more than 25 thousand signatures.

The Ukrainian asked to change the name "Russia" to "Muscovy", as well as to change the concomitant terms: "Russian" and "Russian Federation". According to the author, historically, the state was called "Moscow", and was renamed only 300 years ago by the decision of Tsar Peter I. In response, Vladimir Zelensky instructed Prime Minister Denis Shmigal to study the possibility of renaming, consulting with scientists and providing legal consequences .
