Destruction of the Wagnets in Mali: the Russian Federation can bring out some troops from Kharkiv region - ISW

Analysts of the Institute of War Study suggest that the African Corps may lack the resources for the full replacement of the "Wagner" in Small due to the deployment of troops in Ukraine. Following the losses suffered by the Wagner private military company in Mali, Russia will probably need to replace fighters with the African Corps of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Defense Ministry, some of which are currently in Ukraine.

This is stated in the report of the Institute of War Study (ISW) on July 29. The Russian Ministry of Defense is abused by the losses of Wagner PEC in Mali and will use this incident as an excuse to stop their mission in Sachel, replacing them with the units of the African Corps in Mali, Burkina-Faso and Nigeri. Analysts suggest that the African Corps probably does not have sufficient opportunities to replace Wagner, especially in small ones.

Parts of the African Corps have recently been sent to Ukraine to support the offensive in the north of the Kharkiv region. In order to replace Wagner, after recent losses, some units of the African Corps from the Front of Ukraine in Mali, which is not a priority for the Russian military command, will have to relocate.

Most of the reactions of the Russian information space to the recent ambush of the Tuarez rebels to the Wagner group in the north were focused on the assumption that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation will try to gain benefits from Wagner's losses, emphasizing the constant distrust between the Russian and Wagnets. We will remind, on July 28 the column of mercenaries of PEC "Wagner" was ambushed by the rebels-Tuaretags.
