Initially, this year the Russian side has set three barges and Bonov barriers to the plant to block possible attacks of Ukrainian sea drones. The new strengthening of defense is associated with the threat of strokes of anti-ship missiles, first of all-the complex of RK-360MC "Neptune", which is in service of Ukraine.
The installed ship shield is equipped with a corner reflector system - they are designed to distract anti -ship missiles with radar homing, removing them from real purposes, in particular, from the ships in the bay and the most carbonated. In other words, it increases radar visibility and thus "attracts" the self -alienation of anti -ship missiles as much as possible. The "militaristic" observers noted that the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation has two such targets since 2015.
Their deployment near the flood plant demonstrates the seriousness with which the Russian side perceives the threat of possible Ukrainian missile strikes on a strategically important shipbuilding base. In addition to passive protective measures, Russia has previously involved an artillery boat of the project 1204 "Schmel" in the bay. According to observers, he probably performs the functions of patrolling and protection of the water area from possible attacks of sea drones.
The Kerch ship "Falling", captured by the Russian side of 2014 after the annexation of Crimea, today fulfills large orders for the Russian fleet. Universal landing ships (UDC) of the project 23900 - "Ivan Rogov" and "Mitrofan Moskalenko" are being built here. Each of the UDC has a watertone of about 25 thousand tons, a length of about 220 meters and is able to carry more than 20 helicopters and up to 900 marines.
