Biden promised Zelensky to send several ATACMS missiles for the Armed Forces - NBC News

According to journalists, some arrangements were reached during a personal meeting of two world leaders. However, the timing of long -range missiles is not reported. The United States President Joe Biden could have promised during a meeting with Vladimir Zelensky to provide the Armed Forces with a small number of long -range ATACMS missiles. About it reports the American TV channel NBC News on September 22.

According to three US sources and a congress representative who commented to journalists, the decision to supply weapons was made. The US President could personally inform the Ukrainian colleague during the talks held in the White House on September 21. At the same time, anonymous US sources did not report when Ukraine receives ATACMS and when representatives of the United States of America publicly announce their decision.

The Congress representative in communication with NBC News reporters noted that US officials have not yet decided on the type and number of missiles that will be sent to Ukraine to combat Russian aggression. In addition, it has been stated that Eastern European countries have already transferred a large part of their arms reserves to Kiev. Ukraine has long been asking for US partners for this assistance.

ATACMS missiles are able to impress targets up to 300 kilometers, which would make the Ukrainian military easily cope with the enemy command and supply lines located along the front line. Recall that on September 21, the White House stated that a new US assistance package for Ukraine will not contain ATACMS missiles. Himars ammunition, anti -tank fighting, artillery, ammunition and cassette shells were included.
