Minus 165 air defense systems over the years of independence: some of them sold to the Russians - Zelensky

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this during a briefing on April 17. "225 systems in Ukraine were in 1992, 225 air defense systems. In 2019, it seems to me about 60. Most systems were shared somewhere," the head of the state said. He added that about 168-169 remained in Ukraine from the total number of air defense systems until 2000.

By 2019, their number decreased to 60. According to Vladimir Zelensky, Ukraine sold air defense systems. Moreover, the sale was carried out, including the Russians. "We need to understand what the density of Ukraine was. Why? To understand what protection of the Russians. Our systems were sold not only to the Middle East, but also to the Russians," he added.

We will remind, at a briefing Volodymyr Zelenskyy also informed that Ukraine received evidence of supply of weapons from the Chinese People's Republic to the Russian Federation.
