Today, the body of another man has been found in Kamnik, says the local broadcaster RTV SLO. Meteorologists predict the improvement of weather conditions, but night showers have increased the water level in the rivers Sava and KRKA. Rescuers and the army are trying to get to the villages in the Valley of the Mezhytsia River and parts of the Upper Savinsky Valley. People were left there without mobile communication.
According to the Slovenian TV channel N1, about 30 soldiers arrived in the settlement of the Crna-on-Brown on a helicopter. The military deliver food, fuel and other resources, and help to evacuate people. Slovenia Prime Minister Robert Golob said the country is experiencing the worst spontaneous disaster in recent history.
According to him, the losses from the flood will be at least 500 million euros, water has destroyed residential buildings, institutions, roads and facilities of energy infrastructure. The Mayor of the Municipality of Vellene Peter Dermol noted that only in his area the floods provoked more than a hundred landslides of soil, which sweeps from the road and home. The President of the European Commission Ursula von Der Lyen assured the mobilization of assistance to support the victims of the element.
