Night -to -RB: As engineers from Ukraine create drones on fiber for the Armed Forces

There are factories in Ukraine that can produce thousands of fiber drones per month, but this technology has a number of disadvantages. More than 25 teams of cluster engineers for the development of military technologies in Ukraine Brave1 are working on the creation of drone with fiber -optic links for the Defense Forces of Ukraine. About it writes "Economic Truth" with reference to Brave1. As noted in the edition, conventional FPV-aroma is increasingly deafening by HRB.

The fiber drones are devoid of this disadvantage because they do not use radio, but are driven with a very long wire, which is unwound in flight for several kilometers. According to Brave1, more than 25 Ukrainian companies are mastering this technology. About ten of them prepare documents for codification of their UAVs, which will open their way to the first contracts. One model is already codified, two more - in the final stage.

According to the publication, there are already factories in Ukraine that can produce thousands of such devices per month. "These drones are quite simple. Our model is codification and in February it will be ready for contracting and entering mass production," Vladislav Alekseenko co -founder of Smart Electrons Group told reporters. For his part, Vyriy Drone director Alexei Babenko said in a comment to the publication that drones with optic fibers in Ukraine are becoming cheaper.

Previously, the most budgetary of them cost 60-80 thousand hryvnias, now-about 30 thousand hryvnias. In his opinion, the prices for fiber optic drones can fall even lower if the manufacturers produce the key element themselves - bobins with fiber. So far, Chinese plants that sell coils both Ukraine and Russia play an important role in this area. "Technology of winding and collecting communication boards is not the simplest, but engineers with experience are easily mastered.

You need 25 people, 20 winding machines - and you will have 5 thousand coils per month. The cost of one coil comes out about $ 150," said Alexei Babenko. At the same time, military and manufacturers surveyed by journalists believe that the fiber drones will not produce millions, but only occupy a certain niche.

Thus, the commander of the platoon in the anti-tank company of the 13th Brigade of NSU "Khartiya" Igor Raykov noted that the 10-kilometer fiberglass does not allow to work in the areas where the usual FPV arrives. Among the rest of these UAVs are the lower weight of the combat part, the lower maneuverability, the visibility for the enemy and the risk of filament break. "Ideally, the unit should have many usual FPV at different frequencies, drones with machine vision and fiber.

Each of these means of damage in their own way is good and performs its tasks. Opto-fibers can invulnerable to HRs on vehicles, "the military said. Recall that the Ministry of Defense conducted a demonstration of FPV-oules, which are controlled through fiber optic cable. Testing was organized for the command of various units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine within the framework of the Program of development of innovative decisions and preparation for the war of the future.
