The press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 16:00 on April 23 reported 16 enemy attacks in the Toretsky direction from the beginning of the day. In particular, the assaults of the Russians took place near the country, Crimean, Toretsk and Leonidivka, and another 5 battles continued. DeepState analysts reported on April 23 that the Russians broke through the defense of the Armed Forces in the Toretsk area and intended to reach the highway to the city.
They noted that thanks to a breakthrough in the area of Panteleimonovka and Valentinivka, the occupiers were able to bypass Shcherbinovka and develop success from the right flank of the positions of defense forces near Toretsk. Before that, the Institute of War (ISW) was reported on the successes of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on April 10. Analysts noted that the invaders advanced 4 km near the Toretsk T-0516 highway to Neplipivka, but could not be fixed.
