The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation tested laser weapons against drones in Ukraine: how it works (video)

To spread: the Russians conducted the first practical test of the laser gun prototype from Lazerbuzz at the Kherson region. The system should be used early in combat, but the developers have received information for further modernization. Dmitry Rogozin, a member of the Council of the Federation of Russia, was announced on his Telegram-channel, which is a member of the Defense and Security Committee. He also heads the special purpose center of Bars-Sarmat unmanned systems.

In the published roller, the occupiers showed how laser weapons powerful rays are burned by various materials, including wood, stone, metal, then used against FPV-square. It took a few seconds that the laser melts the propeller and the motor, it took less time to defeat the battery. Judging by the frame, the system was able to burn the metal charge for a grenade launcher, but it is not known how much time it took. It is also unclear how operators will be able to keep the beam on a moving target.

Dmitry Rogozin writes that you will need to put some equipment with servos to capture and keep the goals. According to Lazerbuzz, a 3 kW system is designed to focus laser radiation at one point at a distance of 500 m (theoretically up to 1 km). The prototype feeds on its own batteries, which can be charged from the generator in the field. Dmitry Rogozin believes that laser weapons in the future will be able to protect valuable objects in the rear, such as headquarters or energy infrastructure.

"All this should be brought to the mind not at home landfills, but here - next to the front. Well, and then, as we are ready, we will apply in a combat setting for real hostile purposes," he said. Lazerbuzz is based in the city of Dubna, Moscow region and sells laser welding equipment, cutting and cleaning, as well as industrial robots. Recently, in Russia, how the UAVs are beaten with a laser Lass system from China.
