India's ambitious plan envisages the construction of the first five prototypes of AMCA by 2029. The cost of the program is estimated at $ 1. 8 billion. India has approved the fifty generation fighter development project within the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA). About it reports the Janes portal with reference to its own sources. The fighter -generation fighter project is planned to spend $ 1. 8 billion.

According to sources of the publication, the decision to approve the design was made by the Committee at the Cabinet of Ministers of India. The approved plan stipulates that the fighter prototypes will be Hindustan Aeronautics based on work since 2008. They are organized by the organization of defense research and development. India sets short terms, because the first 5 prototypes of AMCA should be made as early as 2028-2029.

To do this, the aerobes should create a production line in the next six months. Work is also underway to create the entire chain of completing aircraft with contractors. "We expect 2024 to be a busy year to create prototypes. Hindustan Aeronautics can start cutting metal for prototypes in six months. Other work will begin, such as installation of gadgets and assembly line. We will also start the process of creating a supply chain for the program" - the source said.

Also, Defense Express added that Russia has tried years to offer its own developments Su-57 and SU-75. In the case of the first CB aircraft, Sukhoy offered 25% in a joint project, which was estimated at $ 8-10 billion. In 2018, India left the project because the Su-57 did not meet the requirements of the fifth generation. In 2023, the Russian Federation recognized that Su-75 Checkmate was not interested in foreigners.
