"Shakhed" attacks: the "Prytula Foundation" told what new weapons can shoot down Russian drones

Share: The air defense forces do not have enough people to protect the sky from the "Shaheeds" even with the presence of interceptor drones. Autonomous turrets can come to their aid. In Ukraine, several teams are developing technology that is designed to partially replace mobile fire groups, but their effectiveness is still in question. Andrii Shuvalov, director of the Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation, told Focus about this during an interview.

According to him, the foundation recently purchased a turret with target capture and auto-guidance from the developer. Currently, volunteers are waiting for feedback from the military to understand how effectively the tool works and whether it makes sense to buy it further. Andriy Shuvalov added that several enterprises in Ukraine are engaged in the development of autonomous turrets, there are even ready-made devices, but they are very expensive - 6-7 million hryvnias.

On the other hand, they can make people's work easier and reduce the chance of mistakes. "We look at them and understand that the number of personnel in mobile fire groups is low, plus there is a human factor. And this, after all, is an AI system that just needs to be properly configured, maintained, and turned on on time - that will be enough," the director emphasized. In May, it was written that the Sky Sentinel anti-aircraft turret was developed in Ukraine.
