"They think there is no more war": wrestler Belinska proved in Kazakhstan that the Russian Federation is shelling Ukrainians

Share: According to Alla Belinska, the Ukrainian champion of Europe and the world in freestyle wrestling, foreign athletes have become less interested in the topic of the war in Ukraine. Some advise to "give Crimea" to Russia, and one of the athletes at the competition in Kazakhstan believed that the hostilities had already ended. Alla Belinska spoke about the talk of war at international competitions in an interview published on October 20 by OBOZ. UA.

According to her, at the championships, she focuses on victory and never shakes hands with Russian women who compete under neutral flags. "I had such emotions that I just had to win. And under no circumstances should I shake hands. I never even thought that I could give in to them. Of course, it's unpleasant to fight with them, I don't want to. But if we have to, we will fight," said the Ukrainian about the experience of fighting with Russian Ksenia Burakova at the European Championship 2025.

According to Alla Belinska, foreign colleagues ask about the situation in Ukraine and say that Russian President Vladimir Putin would retreat if the Ukrainians "give up" the occupied Crimea. "They always approach and ask. Every athlete approaches and asks: 'How are you?' And we have to explain what is happening. Because they say: 'If you gave Crimea, he would retreat. ' We say that we gave Crimea. And you see, he didn't stop there," the athlete said.

According to her, in general, interest in the Russian-Ukrainian war abroad is fading, and some even think that the hostilities have already ended. "Some even think that there is no longer a war. For example, in Kazakhstan, someone came up to me and said: 'So it's all over for you. ' We will remind, at a press conference on October 9, 21-year-old sumo wrestler from Vinnytsia Danylo Yavgusyshyn refused to comment on the war in Ukraine and stated that he is seeking Japanese citizenship.
