The Kazakh tennis player of Russian descent Yulia Putintsev will not be able to play a match with Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk during the 2024 Olympics. Putintseva posted a short video in the afternoon on July 27. In the video, she said she was removing from the Olympics because of his knee problems. The recording is made in the corridor of the sports complex and it is noticeable that the Russian woman misses because of the current situation. "Unfortunately, I have very bad news. I have to star from the Olympic Games in Paris because of the knee injury received during Wimbledon," she said.

The tennis player assured the audience that she very much wanted to take part in the competitions and sought to play in the Kazakhstan national team. She "hurts and difficult" to go to the court, so she made a difficult decision. Having announced the refusal of the match, Putintsev asked her colleagues on the team. "Unfortunately, this time I can't even just go to the court. It is very difficult for me, though," - heard on video.

The tennis player was confirmed on the portal of the Kazakh Tennis Association. The Association's press service stressed that the problems were known during training in Paris. The athlete felt "incredible knee pain". Pain is a consequence of playing with the first racket of Iga Schwontek in Wimbledon, in which she won.
