Transfer UAVs in 3 seconds: How does the new Dronehammer Anti -Drone Rocket (Photo) work

Extend: The German company Skylance GmbH has successfully completed the first flight test of the Dronehammer missile designed to intercept drones. Dronehammer is a rocket with an optical homing head and a combat part on CO2, designed to combat drone weighing up to 25 kg at close range. This was told by Skylance CEO Philip Bone Hartpunkt. As noted in the publication, the Dronehammer concept first developed two German companies E-Wolf GmbH and Wargdrones GmbH.

However, the development of a missile, which has recently been classified as military weapons, will be carried out by Skylance GmbH, founded a few days ago. Dronehammer's mass production of one Dronehammer rocket is expected to cost only a few thousand euros. This was made possible by the use of economically efficient, and in some cases, non -traditional technologies and components.

The following tests check the functionality of the individual components of the rocket, such as starting installation, optics and combat part. In addition, the control system was digitized so that any changes in parameters can be mimic and tested in a digital double. According to Bone, the efficiency of the battle part with a diameter of 10 meters has already been proven in static tests.

The targets are damaged by rotating CO2 cylinders and accelerating fragments against the target in the immediate vicinity. This creates an effect comparable to the shot effect from the shotgun. The Dronehammer solid fuel rocket engine provides a speed of intercepting more than 500 km/h and an effective flight range is over 600 m. The interception time is 3 seconds. According to the developers, the rocket can be launched from the shoulder, ground platforms and UAVs.

It is also reported that the developers are constantly improving Dronehammer. Currently, the rocket weighs about 700 g of a total length of about 70 cm and an outer diameter of 70 mm. The plans are to reduce the size to 60 cm in length and 60 mm in diameter. We will remind, the Ukrainian company "Wild Horne" modernized the stengers-interceptor Sing, designed to protect against Russian "Shahmed", in particular, increasing its speed.
