End of war in Ukraine: whether the Russian military believes in the goal of "their" - a survey (infographics)

To spread: most Russian military who are involved in invasion of Ukraine are in favor of cessation of hostilities. They do not understand the officially stated goals of the so -called "special military operation" and do not expect it to be completed. Such conclusions were reached by journalists of the Russian edition of "Version" together with a group of anonymous sociologists.

They interviewed more than 100 servicemen of the Russian Federation, who are involved in hostilities against Ukraine in order to find out their attitude to war, peace talks, the goals of the so -called "special military operation" and to compare with the answers of the civilian population. Most of the respondents - three -quarters of respondents - expressed support for the immediate termination of the war.

It wants a little less than a quarter to continue their "to victory, and only two people out of 100 stated that they would fought further to" take revenge for the dead. " Only 20% of the military were able to repeat the official Kremlin rhetoric about "denacification" and "demilitarization", just over 22% believe that it all began to confront the collective event and NATO.

Other military called the main purpose of invasion of Ukraine's full accession to Russia, a change in power in Kiev, the protection of the Russian -speaking population and the upholding of borders. Some respondents called the goals of the war and enrichment. This is ready for more than half of the respondents. In particular, 51% said they would support the decision to withdraw troops from Ukraine even without achieving declared goals. 41% of respondents perceived this perspective.

There was no optimism about the rapid end of the war. More than half of the respondents believe that the fighting will only end in a year or more. Most military support the idea of a truce. But the whole negotiations and the position of Russia are interpreted differently. Just over half (52%) are convinced that the main purpose of Russian President Vladimir Putin is to keep the occupied territories. 29% believe that you need to change power in Ukraine.

Almost a quarter (23%) of respondents called the main task in Ukraine's refusal to admission to NATO. Almost half (44%) of the military surveyed believe that it is necessary to negotiate with Ukraine, the USA and Europe. Another 22% spoke for negotiations with other intermediaries. 15% of the military is completely against any negotiation. The military is generally less optimistic and more critical than civilian Russians.

In particular, only 53% of the military believe that the Russian Federation is successful at the front, while among civilians this figure is 68%. "The military is judging the state of affairs not on TV," says a sociologist who worked on research. Estimates of the negotiation process also differ. Yes, civilians do not consider the maintenance of territories as the key purpose of peaceful settlement. According to non -military men, the main result is Ukraine's refusal to join NATO.

We will remind, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin declared a truce in the Russo-Ukrainian war on the days of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day. It will work from north from May 7 to May 8 and will act until midnight from May 10 to May 11. At the same time, artillerymen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which stand on the Oskyl River, do not believe in the Putin truce. Instead, the military is expecting a new offensive of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
