We cannot allow this: the EU considers unacceptable surrender of Ukraine in the war with the Russian Federation - Borrel

According to the EU Diplomacy Head, Putin may not have started war if he knew what help the Western countries would provide to Ukraine. The rapid completion of the Russian-Ukrainian war is possible only if the military support of Kiev with Western allies and the surrender of Ukraine. The EU does not want such developments. This was stated at the European Union Diplomacy by Josep Borrel at the Conference "Europe and the World".

According to Borrel, Ukraine can not resist Russian aggression on its own and requires Europe's help. In addition, the EU considers the unacceptable surrender of Ukraine before the Russian regime of Vladimir Putin. "I know how to finish the war quickly. If I stop supporting Ukraine, it will end with the surrender of Ukrainians. Do we want the war to end just that? I think not. We can't let Putin put a puppet government in Kiev and mother of the Russian army On the Polish border, "Borrel said.

The EU Diplomacy Head also added that Putin would probably "think twice" whether or not to invade Ukraine if he could have suggested that Ukraine and other allies would provide. In early October, it became known that Europe increases Ukraine's support for the amount of EUR 50 billion for civil and economic needs, and allocates 20 billion for military needs. The EU also plans to teach 40,000 Ukrainian servicemen by the end of 2023.

However, according to Borrel, Europe will not be able to replace the US. Even increased EU assistance in Ukraine will not be enough. Also, by the end of the year, the EU assistance fund for the next three years should be established in the EU, which will meet the military needs of the Ukrainian army. We will remind, on Monday, October 23, Hungary blocked a tranche of military assistance for Ukraine from the EU.

During the meeting of the Foreign Ministry of the EU countries, it was not possible to agree on the issue of allocation of the eighth assistance package for Ukraine in the amount of 500 million euros. Despite the fact that the OTP Hungarian Bank was excluded from the Black Business List, Budapest holds the former position and wants to obtain legal guarantees of bank security.
