To spread: the European Union is developing new measures to weaken Russia's military economy, but is already aware that the main influence in this area has the main influence in this area, not Brussels. The next sanctions package will mainly affect the "shadow fleet" and companies that help Moscow to circumvent existing restrictions. According to Politico, four European diplomats reported that the next, 19th package of sanctions will not provide for new restrictions on Russia's energy sales.

Instead, the sanctions will be directed to the shadow fleet companies and help the Russian Federation bypass the current rules. The strongest effect for the Kremlin may have secondary US sanctions concerning companies or states that are doing business with Russia. Experts say that the Russian economy is already under high pressure due to low oil prices, problems of military-industrial complex and increasing military expenditures.

In addition, measures to restrict the freedom of movement of Russian diplomats in the Schengen zone are considered, which, according to supporters of the initiative, will complicate the activities of Russian intelligence in Europe. While European diplomats are discussing new sanctions, Ukraine continues to strike in Russia's energy infrastructure. In recent days, the drones have struck the pump station at the Druzhba pipeline, which led to stopping the supply of oil to Hungary and Slovakia.

The government agencies of these countries have appealed to the European Commission to intervene, but Brussels stressed that the safety of supply remains the first priority. The EU Foreign Minister's meeting is scheduled for the end of the week, where new economic measures are planned to be discussed. Diplomats are convinced that Member States will eventually agree on the package, as has happened 18 times earlier.

It is worth noting that the EU has been preparing the strictest package of sanctions against Russia since 2022 to exhaust the Kremlin's resources and limit the financing of war. New measures will affect the oil and gas sector and the financial system of the Russian Federation, said French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barro, adding that the strikes of Russia in Ukraine have increased significantly after Trump's proposal on a 30-day ceasefire.

Recall that US President Donald Trump has commented on the situation in Ukraine and a recent incident at an American enterprise in Mukachevo. He noted that in the next two weeks it would be clear in which direction the situation will develop at the front, as well as whether Washington will introduce large -scale sanctions against Moscow.
