The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will disband the quasi-independent formation "DNR Cascade": in ISW learned details

According to analysts, these attempts can mean the elimination of autonomy of individual units, the replacement of commanders and the establishment of the same rules and provisions as for regular Russian troops. By December 31, 2023, the Russian military command, according to some reports, plans to disband the operative-combat tactical connection "cascade" of pro-Russian fighters "DNR". About it writes "Institute of War Study" in the summary of December 26.

The so -called "Ministry of Internal Affairs of the DNR" formed the "Cascade" unit in 2017, since then it has acted as a semi -independent irregular formation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. On December 26, Russian sources reported that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation would disband one of the "most experienced, most capable and most adjusted units" in the Donbass after the Russian General Staff ordered the "cascade" to leave its positions.

It is reported that the Russian military command has already started withdrawing parts of the cascade from the front line, incl. 90 artillery systems and unmanned reconnaissance elements. According to Russian sources, the number of "cascade" personnel - 9,000 people, and Russian officials try to disband it before the New Year holidays, so as not to draw attention to the seizure of property and assets of "cascade".

Social network users claim that it is a transformation into a new structure not related to the occupation administration of Donetsk region. Another "militarycock" stated that the dissolution of the "cascade" does not matter, since its staff was hidden behind regular troops in the area of the Great Novosilka, which was on the border of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya regions, and was inadvertent.

Apparently, the disbanding of this unit is carried out in the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to formalize control over some irregular forces.

At the beginning of 2023, similar efforts were made in the Russian Federation to restructure the 1st and 2nd occupation buildings "DNR" and "LNR", which in some cases meant the elimination of autonomy of individual units, the replacement of commanders and the establishment of the same rules and regulations as for Russian troops. It should be reminded that, according to ISW estimates, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation advanced under Rabotine and to Kokimima in Avdiivka.
