The head of the diplomatic department of Ukraine noted that the Ukrainian authorities will respect any choice of Chisinau about how to resolve the issue with Transnistria. Ukraine does not intend to attack Transnistria, but the situation requires to keep troops in this area of the border. This was stated on Thursday, May 4, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleb in an interview for TV8.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Transnistria is a matter of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova. Kuleba noted that Ukraine respect the neighboring countries, and Kishin will decide how to develop its country and how to resolve issues with Transnistria.

"Undoubtedly, Transnistria is on the southwestern flank, it is a threat that requires us to keep the power in this area of the border-simply for potential restraint and control over the situation," the head of the diplomatic agency emphasized. Kuleba noted that despite the fact that the situation with Transnistria is a problem in military plan, representatives of the Ukrainian department will respect the choice of Moldova's authorities with respect.

"We will absolutely respect the path that will choose the Moldova government in relation to relations with Transnistria and reintegration of the region," the Foreign Minister said. We will remind, on March 24, the Ministry of Defense of Moldova recorded works on repair and modernization of the airfield near Tiraspol in the unrecognized "Transnistrian Moldavian Republic", which could mean that Moscow did not refuse to plant Russian landing in the territory of the PMR.
