Officials, their relatives and defense: US will represent new sanctions against Russia - WSJ

Joe Baiden's administration has prepared a new set of restrictions against 200 Russian individuals and legal entities for the support of the Great War in Ukraine. The focus is the gasket companies that help Moscow to evade sanctions. US Presidential Administration Joe Baiden this week can impose new sanctions against 200 Russian individuals and legal entities for involvement in a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.

This was reported by The Wall Street Journal on February 22, referring to informed sources. New restrictions are imposed because Washington and allies in Europe are looking for new ways to deprive Moscow access to the components of the military and technological sectors, the interlocutors explained.

The US Ministry of Finance and the State Department will include in the list of Russian governors and relatives of government officials, related to defense technological companies and gasket companies that help to evade sanctions. According to the Deputy Minister of Finance, Wolly Adem, the Kremlin is making every effort to avoid restrictions.

The US and the European Union want to make leading companies to make a business with a Western coalition that has half of the world GDP or cooperate with the aggressor. The European Union discusses their own new economic measures against Russia for 11 billion euros and sanctions against Iranian companies that supply the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with shock drones, diplomats said.

"The package is aimed at technologies and components that Russian military or related companies can only buy from European and other Western suppliers. New EU measures are closely agreed with Washington and the United Kingdom," the newspaper writes. Western officials have acknowledged that many measures to influence Russia's ability to finance war, including energy embargoes and financial sanctions, have already been used.

Now their attention has been switched to the closure of the loopholes and preventing the possibility of evasion. "We provide intelligence and useful information that can destroy the mechanisms of evasion. If someone does not, we and my partners are ready to use different economic tools to act on our own," Adem said.

In a conversation with journalists, the Deputy Minister of Finance said the United States would make it clear to Chinese companies and banks that they were also waiting for sanctions for Russia's support. Adem promised to cover cases where the Chinese help Moscow to evade Western sanctions. Recall that the Netherlands advocated the creation of staff to ensure the execution of anti -Russian sanctions.
