Armed Forces can get 100 units of armored Soviet technology from Bulgaria: what is known

The transfer of armored vehicles is possible only after ratification of the relevant agreement by the Bulgaria Parliament. On Monday, August 21, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held talks with Bulgaria Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov. This was reported by the President in his Telegram. "Productive negotiations with Nikolai Denkov took place yesterday within the Ukrainian - Balkans summit," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Zelensky expressed gratitude to Bulgaria and defense and political support for Ukraine. They also discussed further cooperation, the Black Sea security, the protection of alternative "grain corridors". In addition, the President announced the continuation of negotiations with Balkan colleagues on August 22.

Also, on August 21, the Minister of Defense Alexei Reznikov spent a joint briefing with the Defense Minister Bulgaria Todor Tagarev, during which it became known that Bulgaria could put about 100 units of armored technique of Soviet models at the end of September. Tagarev noted that the process of transfer of equipment is slowed down because it is in the warehouses of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bulgaria.

While the Bulgarian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the contract must be signed and then the agreement must be ratified in the Bulgaria Parliament. "And as soon as he returns to his meetings in September, I think it will be one of the priority tasks. And by the end of September - at the beginning of October we will already have a ratification - said Todor Tagarev. We will remind, on August 17, Bulgaria joined the declaration of G7 countries.
