The Black Sea region will now always be free from Russian dominance - President in Odessa congratulated military sailors

On the occasion of the Navy Day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated military sailors in Odessa and celebrated them with state awards. “During this war, Ukraine has gained a completely different status for the Black Sea region - this region will now always be free from Russian dominance. Our state will always have its fleet - a modern fleet, its own influence and a clear strategy of action, a new maritime strategy of Ukraine.

All this would be impossible without the courage and results of our Ukrainian marines, ”Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized. The President noted the heroism of seafarers, soldiers of the river flotilla, navy aviation pilots, anti -aircraft artillerymen. He also added that all Ukrainians should always remember what our warriors pass and at what price they protect our Ukraine's independence. The attendees honored the memory of the fallen heroes.

The President awarded the Golden Star Order Hero of Ukraine Junior Sergeant Vladislav Andrushchenko, who participated in the liberation of Makarivka and Staromayorsky in Donetsk region. Last October, he headed the assault group of the Marine Corps, which forced the Dnieper, successfully landed on the left bank and approached the village of Krynka. This year, the fighters forced the Russian invaders to retreat there from key positions and expanded the bridgehead.

Vladislav Andrushchenko repeatedly suffered injuries and returned to the battlefield after treatment. The Head of State "Cross of Combat Merit" received: Junior Sergeant Yaroslav Koziychuk. Last year, in December, the combat group under his command was landed on the left bank of the Dnieper, took the enemy's position, stormed strongholds, destroyed armored vehicles and personnel of the invaders.
