The profile committee recommends that the Parliament adopt a bill "On Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine and other legislative acts of Ukraine on improving the provisions of the current legislation in terms of criminal liability for committing military criminal offenses related to violations them, shipping.

" The explanatory note to the bill stated that punishment for the loss of equipment of the Armed Forces during the war is too harsh, without alternative types of punishments and does not take into account the circumstances and conditions under which the fighters perform combat missions.

They noted that the number of such violations is increasing, which can affect the fact that servicemen who have experience in the operation of military equipment will not be able to use their knowledge in the fight against the enemy. There is also a risk for the military for the loss of the aircraft - imprisonment for a period of five to 15 years. This can adversely affect the moral and psychological state of servicemen.

The law proposed to amend Articles 415-417 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in particular adding other types of punishments (service restriction, which provides for the possibility of preserving the fighter in the service). They also propose to establish responsibility that will depend on the severity of the consequences and the amount of material damage caused.
