Russia is forming new military reserves: ISW has evaluated the threat and voiced the goals of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation

According to analysts, new formations of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are likely to be able to function as cohesive large -scale breakthroughs or operational formations in 2024. They are needed to support current operations in Ukraine. The Russian military is actively recruiting personnel for parts of the recently reproduced Leningrad Military District (LVO). This is stated in the report of the American Institute of War Study (ISW) of March 26.

Thus, the UK Ministry of Defense has confirmed that the 44th Army Corps of the Lviv had already launched a recruitment in the meadow (Leningrad region). According to representatives of the MO UK, Russia earlier sent newly created units to participate in operations in Ukraine. However, according to ISW analysis, the need to continue operations in Ukraine may interfere with the wider efforts of Russia to form forces.

ISW experts say that Russia continues to form reserves that can support current operations in Ukraine. "Such reserves are unlikely to be able to function as cohesive large -scale breakthroughs or operational formations in 2024," the report reads. We will remind, on March 26 Roszma, citing sources in Moscow, reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to seize Kharkiv and plans a new offensive.

According to Alexander Kovalenko, the military-political observer of the Information Resistance group, about 120,000 soldiers attracted Avdiivka. He is convinced that to form a shock group for the offensive on Kharkiv would not work for Ukraine. In addition, on March 26, Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Maxim Zhorin said that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation clearly identified priority directions and are not afraid of losses.
