Business Helped: The Kremlin received an additional $ 3 billion for war with Ukraine

New budget revenues under the guise of a "Tax Tax" have already reached 305 billion rubles ($ 3. 29 billion), although by the end of January 2024 the Russian authorities expected that they would receive only 300 billion. Russian business has already paid more than three billion dollars in the treasury as a "war tax". The Minister of Finance of Russia Anton Siluanov told journalists of the Izvestiya newspaper on December 6.

"Taxpayers themselves choose: to pay in 2023 at the rate of 5% or next year at the rate of 10%. We see that the event and expectations from this event worked, the total amount of income we planned to collect," - he said. According to his estimates, total revenues have already reached 305 billion rubles ($ 3. 29 billion). At the same time, by the end of January 2024, the Russian authorities expected 300 billion rubles ($ 3. 24 billion).

The Russian authorities decided to replenish the budget at the expense of local business in the summer of 2023, when the State Duma supported the law on the introduction of a tax on profits. The tax was introduced for organizations whose average profit from 2021 to 2022 exceeded 1 billion rubles. The tax rate will be 10% of the excess of profit. It is necessary to pay the tax by January 28, 2024, but if businesses do so by November 30, 2023, they are given a 50%discount.

That is, they pay not 10, but 5%. Collection of tax on the dressing is forwarded to the federal budget of the Russian Federation. These revenues help the aggressor country to continue the war against Ukraine, as the budget receives additional funds from Russian businesses. We will remind, according to experts of the Institute of War Study (ISW), the budget of Russia has increased the federal costs of defense for 2024 in order to continue to support the invasion of the territory of Ukraine.
