According to a person close to one of the distributors, in the second quarter of 2022, they were able to import 4-5 times less equipment in Russia, and compared to the fierce total supply amount decreased by 79%. The representative of another company confirmed the problems of import: according to its calculations, in June the cost of purchased servers was 73% less than at the beginning of a full -scale war in Ukraine.
According to one of the experts, in February, the cost of imported servers was $ 190-200 million, decreased by about twice (up to $ 75-90 million). In April, the supply volume exceeded $ 300 million, that is, even bypassed the pre -war figures, but then in June it fell sharply, leveling the April increase. In July, the deliveries returned to March level, so in a month the increase was approximately 30-40%. The same tendency is observed with the purchase of all IT equipment.
In the spring, against the background of international economic sanctions, the Russian government allowed to bring goods to the country on "parallel import" - without the permission of the right holders and through third countries. Due to this, at the beginning of the second quarter, the supply of servers increased significantly, but never returned to pre -war indicators. Earlier, they wrote that Russian IT companies could not buy computing equipment because of sanctions.
